Alastair was contracted by Starkevents as Production Manager working alongside Transport Scotland to deliver events marking the completion of the new line between Edinburgh and Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders.

Official opening duties were conducted by HM The Queen on the day she became the longest serving British monach.

Pickard Production was responsible for site design, procurement, contractor management and design of media facilities, working along the way with multiple stakeholders including the Royal Household, Office of the First Minister and three local authorities along the route of the railway line.
